Mangro Holdings is a privately-owned South African investment holding company focusing on the education, real estate and financial investment sectors.
Mangro was formed during the mid-nineties through the establishment of two higher education institutions (MANCOSA and Regent Business School) by Professor Yusuf Karodia and a group of academics who recognised the need for business education that catered to previously disadvantaged South Africans. These institutions continue to play an important role in Southern Africa by providing affordable education in the areas of business and teacher education.
MANCOSA and Regent Business School were acquired by private equity firm Actis in 2017 through its pan-African private higher education platform, Honoris United Universities.
Mangro continues to be an education investor via its investment in Honoris. Our team is actively involved in the further growth of Honoris across the African continent and continues to be involved with MANCOSA and Regent Business School.
Mangro has acquired a number of real estate over the years in South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland and Mauritius to support the expansion of its education assets. The Group continues to grow its real estate portfolio by acquiring education real estate to support the growth of the education businesses, and is also assessing opportunities in the commercial and industrial sectors, both locally and abroad.
