Mangro Holdings is the holding company of the Mangro Group (Mangro), a privately-owned South African investment group focused on education, real estate and other strategic investments.
Mangro was formed during the mid-nineties through the establishment of two higher education institutions (MANCOSA and Regent Business School) by Professor Yusuf Karodia and a group of academics who recognised the need for business education that catered to previously disadvantaged South Africans.
These institutions continue to play an important role in Southern Africa by providing affordable education in the areas of business and teacher education.
MANCOSA and Regent Business School joined Honoris United Universities (Honoris) in 2017, a pan-African private higher education group led by private equity firm Actis. In December 2025, Mangro partnered with Old Mutual Private Equity to acquire Honoris, with Mangro continuing as a strategic investor committed to driving the long-term growth and success of the group.
Mangro has acquired a number of real estate assets over the years in South Africa and Mauritius to support the expansion of its education businesses. Mangro continues to expand its real estate portfolio through the acquisition of education, commercial and industrial properties, both in South Africa and internationally, supporting the growth of its operating businesses while pursuing attractive property investment opportunities.
